There are a number of reasons why some customers may need to use a larger amount of water than average, in these cases, qualifying customers may be entitled to a reduction in their water charges.
To be eligible for the WaterSure Charge rate:-
- someone in your household must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit and be responsible for 3 or more children under the age of 19 who live in the household and are in full time education, or
- someone in your household must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit and have been diagnosed with a condition that means they use a large amount of water.
In addition, you must be metered and the water supplied to the premises must not be used for watering a garden other than by hand, or to replenish a pond or swimming pool with a capacity greater than 10,000 litres.

If you have a medical condition that necessitates a large use of water but you do not receive any of the qualifying benefits, please contact us and we will consider your case.
For the period 1 April 2009 – 31 March 2010, the reduced charges for the Water Sure scheme are: £130.27 for water and £114.00 for sewerage.
If your current charges are more than this, you may be entitled to pay the reduced charge. Once on the Water Sure scheme, if your actual metered bill is lower than the reduced charge, we will only charge you the lower amount.
How to Apply
1 Fill in the WaterSure Application Form and return it to us with the necessary supporting evidence. If you need help with this form, please phone us.
2 The person named on the water bill should sign this form as well as the person who receives the benefit or who has a medical condition (if they are not the person named on the water bill).
3 We will try to give you a decision within 10 working days. We will contact you if we need any more information.
4 If your application is not successful we will tell you why.
5 If your application is successful, we will apply the reduced rates to your next bill.
