Copper

If your water has a blue or green colour to it or causes blue/green deposits, it is usually a problem with copper. Copper has been used for 150 years to transport drinking water and is perfectly safe, however there can be issues caused by the breakdown of the protective layer of copper in customerís pipes. This can be a problem with new properties especially when the water has been left to stand in the pipes after construction and a significant time period elapses before the property is in use.

Running the cold water tap for several minutes should flush the supply and help alleviate the issue.
